The Indian subcontinent has this caste system in its roots because of their low mindset. You can't pull it out. It's in their blood and the soil from which they drink and eat. Be it Syed or Pathan or Punjabi etc, if they live in the subcontinent they must practise this caste system in some form. Believing in caste system is like believing in Hinduism. Because when the Aryans came to the subcontinent some 3500 years ago, they wrote Rigveda and invented this caste system. The Brahmins have played and benefited from this caste system. It wss invented in such a way that there was a god Brahma and the four castes were created from his body. So believing in casteism is like believing in Hinduism.

They have created invisible walls based on family names Khan, Sayed, Siddique, Shaikh etc...more over they have further strengthened the walls based on sectarian belief in last decades...they also carry pride on race more than faith...and still expect everyone to come under one roof ??? knowing or unknowingly almost every individual is a brick of this invisible wall. Please decide which one is the priority..faith, family names or race?? may be only two places bring them together 1. Mosque 2. Graveyard ( by default).

  • @shehran6936

Just so you all know, Pakistani isn't an ethnic group, nor is Indian. Pakistan and India are nationalities for some of the most ethnically diverse places and people in the world. Collectively they have at least 50 different ethnic groups. Identity is personal. Not every British born Pakistani will have the same cultural values, traditions and beliefs. It depends on the exposure to the Pakistani and British culture you get. I was born in the UK but don't feel British. My passport and the language I speak are British but I am more interested in Pakistan. That's partly because I don't want Pakistanis to feel they have to emigrate from Pakistan to countries like the UK. I'm not saying I constantly face discrimination but I have faced discrimination on numerous occasions. Living a comfortable life in Pakistan would be better than facing discrimination in another country. As the Pakistani diaspora we should do more to help Pakistan develop. We've had the privilege of living in a developed country and access to education, something a lot of Pakistanis don't have. Another reason I don't feel British is because i belong to an identity group that is constantly being vilified. Pakistani Muslims are constantly targeted as a whole when one person does something wrong. It's not easy to feel British when your British Pakistaniness makes unaccepted. I don't like the word tolerance. We're not an annoyance or a pest that you tolerate, we're humans. It's a natural human need to feel accepted and a sense of belonging to a group. The reason a lot of British Asians turn to terrorism is because their identity is not accepted whether that be their religion, race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, etc, etc.
